Primary Teacher

Overview

We are seeking to appoint a Primary Teacher to provide effective teaching and learning in Al-Mizan school that enables individuals and groups of students to achieve high standards and make good progress; to share and support the corporate responsibility for the education, well-being and safeguarding of all students in the academy.

 

Please note that this role is not suitable for ECT (Early Career Teacher ).

  • Plan and teach well-structured, engaging lessons to assigned classes, following the school’s curriculum, plans and schemes of work
  • Demonstrate secure subject and curriculum knowledge across the primary phase
  • Provide high-quality feedback, including written and verbal feedback, in line with the school’s marking and feedback policy
  • Ensure assessment information is used productively to support next steps in learning
  • Maintain good order and discipline, managing behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
  • Keep accurate attendance registers and ensure appropriate records are maintained
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to support their personal, social and emotional development
  • Undertake whole-school duties on a rota basis (e.g. break or lunchtime supervision) as directed
  • Proactively engage in continuing professional development and training
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
  • Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (including Keeping Children Safe in Education) and the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Have proper and professional regard for the ethos, policies and practices of the school

Salary & Benefits

£28,009.66 – £41,250.08 per annum (ELMT scale D6–F11) Pro-rata

Full time permenant (7:45am to 4:10pm – with some days additional time for meetings and special events)
