OUR APPROACH

TEACHING METHODS

At Al-Mizan Primary School, learning is typically delivered through high-quality whole-class teaching, where teachers provide clear explanations, modelling and guided practice. Teaching is adapted to meet the needs of all pupils so that every child is supported and challenged to succeed.

Our teachers use a range of strategies, including questioning, scaffolding and targeted support, to ensure pupils can access the curriculum and make strong progress. We have high expectations for the quality of pupils’ work, encouraging them to take pride in both the content and presentation of their learning.

We aim to develop confident, independent learners who are able to think critically, communicate effectively and take increasing responsibility for their own learning.

SPEAKING & LISTENING

It is important that children should develop understanding of the spoken word and learn to express themselves effectively in a variety of speaking and listening activities. Learning situations are organised in order for this to happen in a structured way. We do this using various strategies such as presentations about various subjects and discussions.
